The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) last week arrested a suspect in a “countywide vehicle prowl case,” according to a Friday news release.
“Earlier this evening, LCSO detectives and a sheriff's enforcement team deputy conducted a traffic stop on a suspect connected to multiple vehicle prowls across Lewis County,” the sheriff’s office wrote in the release Friday. “Deputies recognized the suspect and his vehicle from surveillance footage at local convenience stores, where stolen credit and debit cards were used to buy and redeem lottery tickets.”
Edward J. Guenther, 34, of Chehalis, was booked into the Lewis County Jail Friday. He has prior felony convictions for first-degree rape of a child and first-degree child molestation. He’s currently on probation and under supervision by the state Department of Corrections.
He was scheduled to make an initial appearance in Lewis County Superior Court Monday afternoon to face new charges.
