A Chehalis man accused of slamming a cupboard into his brother’s face then punching him repeatedly in the face on Sunday has been arrested and charged with assault in Lewis County Superior Court.

The alleged victim suffered a 2.5 inch gash to his head and was transported to the hospital after a witness called 911 at approximately 4:15 p.m. on Aug. 28.

The defendant, Justin Passmore, 32, allegedly “became upset” with the alleged victim and “slammed a cupboard into (his) face,” then “picked him up and slammed him into the ground and began to punch,” according to court documents.

A witness reported Passmore was drinking prior to the altercation.

The alleged victim told responding officers Passmore “had been drinking and ‘went nuts’ and punched him in the head and back,” according to court documents.

Responding officers located Passmore hiding under a bed in a room he had locked himself into, according to court documents. Passmore was reportedly “uncooperative with officers and had to be restrained” in a WRAP safe-restraint system “to get him to comply,” according to court documents.

Passmore was booked into the Lewis County Jail at 7:05 p.m. on Aug. 28 and has since been charged with one count of second-degree assault, domestic violence. His bail has been set at $20,000 and his next court appearance is an arraignment hearing scheduled for Sept. 1.
