The Washington state Department of Social and Health Services’ (DSHS) Chehalis Community Services Office is relocating from Northeast Hampe Way in Chehalis to 1247 Harrison Ave., Centralia, on June 30.

The new office will be located just south of Blakeslee Junction off Interstate 5 at Exit 82, less than 6 miles from the former location, according to a news release from the DSHS.

DSHS customers will be able to travel to the new location via the Lewis County Transit Centralia-Chehalis Connector Yellow Route.

The Hampe Way location will be open until 3 p.m. Monday, June 30. At 8 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, the Harrison Avenue location will become the temporary location for the Chehalis Community Services Office while permanent relocation plans are in the works, the release stated. The office will continue to offer access to the same public benefits and programs, such as basic food, cash and medical assistance, as it did in the former location.

During the move and while the temporary location is renovated, DSHS mobile outreach trucks will be at Harrison Avenue in Centralia to ensure service continuity. People are also encouraged to access DSHS community services by calling the Customer Service Contact Center at 877-501-2233 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or by going online to WashingtonConnection.org. Other nearby Community Services Offices are listed on the DSHS website.
