A 21-year-old Chehalis man is accused of driving under the influence and vehicular assault after he crashed into a motorcyclist on Interstate 5 in Tumwater Saturday evening, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The motorcyclist, a 52-year-old Tacoma man, suffered a broken leg and was taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia. The Chehalis man was not injured.

About 7:30 p.m., both drivers were headed north on I-5 in Tumwater. Troopers say the Chehalis man changed lanes and struck the motorcyclist. Both vehicles wound up blocking the ramp to U.S. Highway 101, according to the State Patrol.
