Chehalis City Council Votes to Create Employee Recognition Fund

The Chehalis City Council voted on Monday to approve the allocation of $15,000 to create an employee recognition program for city workers. The funds would go to hosting a staff appreciation luncheon and other staff events and items bearing the city logo, such as shirts and cups, that can be given out as tokens of appreciation and certificates for employee dedication.

Chehalis City Manager Jill Anderson told the council the city hasn’t had an employee recognition program for several years.

Of the allocated $15,000, about one-third will go to staff events with the remaining amount going to purchase items bearing the city logo in bulk, which Anderson said would be cheaper for the city than buying items at different intervals.
