A celebration of the award winners for the Chehalis Basin Strategy Photo Contest will be held Wednesday, June 8, in Centralia, and Thursday, June 9, in Montesano.
The June 8 event will be at the Centralia Train Depot, 210 Railroad Ave. The June 9 celebration will be at the Grays Harbor Courthouse, 102 W. Broadway. Both are 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Complimentary refreshments will be provided.
All 18 photo contest award winners will have their photographs professionally printed and foam-core mounted, and put on display at the events. With a theme of “My Place, the Chehalis,” the photo contest was an opportunity to experience the Chehalis Basin through the eyes of the people that live, work and play in the basin.
The events are being sponsored as part of the Chehalis Basin Strategy, an initiative being developed by the state of Washington, local leaders and tribes to reduce flood damage and improve river habitat throughout the Chehalis River Basin.
