Centralia Woman Turns 99

Ruth Christine Bodin, born March 1, 1921, will soon been celebrating her 99th birthday. 

Bodin has lived in the Centralia area for 66 years. 

She was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Mabel and Christian Johnson. Her spouse, Palmer Bodin, died in 2007. Ruth worked as a homemaker and caregiver. 

Her activities include being a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Rochester, the Independence Merrymakers’ Club, Gate Garden Club and St. Mark’s Ladies’ Aid. 

Her children include Ernest Bodin (Joanne) of Centralia; Robert Bodin (died 2009); Delores Motz, of Olympia; Rose Johnson, of Rochester; and Howard Bodin (Kathy), of Rochester. She has 15 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 27 great-great-grandchildren. 

A party is scheduled for 1:15 p.m. to 3 p.m. March 1, 2020 at Cooks Hill Manor Dining Room at 2010 Cooks Hill Road in Centralia.
