Employees from the Centralia Public Works water department will begin flushing fire hydrants on Monday, April 11.
The department flushes the hydrants as a preventative-maintenance measure that takes place twice a year to bring fresh water through the lines, stated a news release.
The City of Centralia’s water will still be safe to drink during the process, though it takes about three weeks to work through the entire system.
