Centralia police used the Flock Safety camera system Wednesday night to locate and arrest a man wanted by the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) for allegedly holding a woman inside his home against her will and threatening to kill her.

Kayden D. Allison, 22, of Centralia, was booked into the Lewis County Jail at about 11:35 p.m. Feb. 11 for charges that include second-degree malicious mischief, felony harassment, and unlawful imprisonment, according to jail records.

As of presstime, The Chronicle had not yet obtained official charging information filed by prosecutors.

Allison made a preliminary appearance in Lewis County Superior Court on Thursday. He remains in custody in lieu of $50,000 in bail.

During the hearing, Senior Deputy Prosecutor Scott Jackson highlighted the state’s concern for the victim’s safety based on the allegations written in the probable cause affidavit. He also requested the judge enter a protection order on behalf of the woman, along with an order for Allison to surrender any firearms in his possession.

Judge Joely Yeager granted both requests.

Allison is scheduled for an arraignment on Feb. 19. According to his attorney for the day, Rachael Tiller, he will look to retain private defense counsel.

In a Thursday news release, the sheriff’s office said its deputies had tried to serve Allison a protection order on Wednesday, “after reports he sent more than 300 messages to the protected party and went to her home, leaving notes,” but were unable to locate him.

According to the sheriff’s office, an agency outside of Lewis County had already established charges against Allison.

“During the initial LCSO investigation, the victim provided additional information alleging threats to kill her, the destruction of her $1,300 phone, and being held overnight against her will after attempting to leave Allison’s home,” the release stated.

According to the release, the sheriff’s office used that information to establish a basis for charges within Lewis County and issued an “attempt-to-locate” to surrounding agencies.

The Centralia Police Department assisted in the search, using its local Flock cameras to find the suspect later that evening in the 1900 block of Honeysuckle Lane, where he was “safely taken into custody” and booked into jail that night, the sheriff’s office said.
