The Centralia Police Department is investigating a “suspicious death,” the department announced in a news release Thursday, Aug. 6.
At about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, officers responded to a home in the 1200 block of Marion Street to conduct a welfare check, according to the release.
“Officers located one deceased person inside the residence and detectives were subsequently called to the scene,” the department stated. “The Washington State Patrol and Lewis County Sheriffs have assisted with the investigation. The investigation remains ongoing, and no further information is available at this time.”
The department stated that updates will be provided as the investigation continues.
The Lewis County Coroner’s Office will release the cause of death after an autopsy has been completed, according to Centralia police.
