A Centralia motorcyclist was injured Friday after colliding with a car on state Route 507, according to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol (WSP).

Thomas E. Teffeteller, 71, was transported to MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital following the incident. Troopers said he was wearing a federally compliant helmet.

According to the memo, Teffeteller was issued an unspecified citation, though WSP said the cause of the collision was “speed.” No drug or alcohol use was reported.

According to WSP, Teffeteller was riding a 2002 Honda motorcycle heading northbound on Route 507 north of McKenna when he struck the rear of a 2018 Chevrolet Camaro, which then struck the rear of a 2015 Hyundai Sonata.

The collision occurred shortly after 5:10 p.m. July 24. Troopers said all three vehicles came to rest in lane one, blocking the roadway for about 51 minutes.

The respective drivers of the Camaro and the Sonata, Theron J. Perry, 56, of Eatonville, and Mykhailo Manoryk, 25, of Los Angeles, California, were uninjured in the collision.

Both were wearing seat belts, troopers said.
