John M. Williford, 30, of Centralia, was charged Tuesday in Lewis County Superior Court with one count of residential burglary, one count of third-degree malicious mischief and one count of third-degree theft.
The burglary charge carries the greatest potential sentence of up to 10 years in prison and $20,000 in fines.
Williford is accused of breaking into a person’s home and stealing multiple guitars and an amplifier, according to court documents. Surveillance footage date-stamped Aug. 22 allegedly shows Williford picking up and throwing bricks at the front of the residence, as well as taking one of the amplifiers from the back yard before exiting from the view of the camera.
Later, the footage allegedly shows the defendant exit with a steel-string guitar. The resident claimed Williford damaged other items, like his Apple computer screen.
Bail was set at $10,000 cash or bond during a preliminary hearing in Lewis County Superior Court on Sept. 2. An arraignment is scheduled for Sept. 4, with Chris Baum assigned to represent Williford.
