The Tigers were in a favorable position to play their first seven inning game of the season, but the Lumberjacks had other plans with a 10-run third to push them towards a 15-5, five-inning victory on Saturday.
Centralia (0-3) went 0-2 in the Baseballism Classic as part of the Brian Hunter bracket. It got to two outs in the frame despite allowing two walks, then the floodgates opened. R.A. Long used six hits, getting plunked three times and one passed ball to take firm control of the game.
Trailing 3-0, the Tigers grabbed the lead with five runs in the second. Gabe Salazar started the rally with an RBI single and stole home to make it 3-2. Hudson Waterfield tied the game with a run-scoring base hit then Wyatt Van Der Hoeff gave them the lead on his RBI single.
Salazar and Waterfield each stole two bases and Jamie Conzatti registered an RBI. Centralia will look to get in the win column on Wednesday versus Tumwater in its EvCo opener.
