Centralia College is inviting the community to participate in a dyslexia awareness event on Oct. 8, World Dyslexia Day.
The purpose of the event is to raise awareness and celebrate the strengths of individuals with dyslexia, a news release from the college stated.
The event will be held at 6 p.m. in Room 122 of the TransAlta Commons on the Centralia College campus.
The award-winning documentary “Who Knew? Dyslexia is a Way of Thinking” will be featured as the kickoff to a community partner panel discussion. The panel consists of individuals who are experts in their fields and who have lived experience with dyslexia. Pediatricians, educators, parents and more will find the discussion valuable as they provide support for their patients, students and children, according to the news release.
Residents can bring their questions to the open Q&A and visit the resource tables after the event.
This event is open to the public, but RSVPs are requested and appreciated. Available seating is limited.
