Centralia College to Host Fourth Annual State Inspirational Speech Championship on Saturday

Looking for some inspiration in your life? This Saturday at Centralia College, the top five public speakers from around the state will compete against each other in the fourth annual Statewide Inspirational Speech Championship, according to a news release from the college. 

Free to attend, the championship will take place at 4 p.m. July 22 in the TransAlta Commons, room 105, located at 600 Centralia College Blvd. Snacks and refreshments will be served during an intermission. 

The five remaining public speakers started out in a field that included competitors from 34 community colleges throughout Washington. One of them is a Lewis County resident. 



Currently the number three ranked public speaker in the state, Jasmine Preslicka, of Onalaska, will be representing Centralia College. 

The other four include the number five ranked speaker, Shawnee Munns, from Spokane Community College; the number four ranked speaker, Kimm Moore, of Bellevue College; the number two ranked speaker, Kayanne McNeill, of Green River College; and the number one ranked speaker, Solstice Black, of Whatcom Community College. 

All five speakers will deliver a 10- to 15-minute inspirational speech and the state champion will be chosen around 5:30 p.m., according to the release.
