Centralia College Among Six Washington Institutions to Receive Bomb Threat on Thursday

Centralia College was one of six colleges in Washington that received bomb threats on Thursday.

The Centralia Police Department responded to the college just after 2:20 p.m. on Thursday regarding a threat to a specific room on campus. The campus was evacuated for about an hour while police cleared the room and other rooms in the building, but “nothing suspicious was located,” according to the Centralia Police Department.

“It’s summer break right now, so there were no classes on campus and very few staff,” a spokesperson for Centralia College said.

South Puget Sound Community College, Edmonds Community College, Tacoma Community College and Lower Columbia College received similar threats Thursday afternoon, according to a Centralia College spokesperson. None were found to be credible. Another similar threat was reported May 6 at Bellevue College.
