Centralia can’t keep up in loss to Montesano

The early-season woes continued for the Centralia baseball team on Tuesday, as the Tigers lost at home to Montesano 17-9.

It’s Centralia’s sixth straight loss to open the season, and they’ve allowed 12 or more runs in all six of those losses.

The offense did its part on Tuesday. Centralia put up three in the first and added six more across the final three innings.

Montesano scored in every inning but one, though, including a five-spot in the third and a six-spot in the fifth.

Jon Leedy went 2 for 4 at the dish with a triple and he scored three runs, and Kellen Rooklidge drove in a run and drilled a double as part of his two-hit day.

Mykal Sneller also collected two hits and drove in two runs.

The Tigers (0-6) will look to snap their skid on Thursday at home against Tumwater.
