Below is Sharon's previously published obituary:

Our brightest light and love, Sharon “Cassy” Woods, 39, of Olympia, left this world to join her loved ones on the “other side.” She passed away at home Friday, May 29, 2026.

Sharon was born Nov. 2, 1986, to Robert and C. Deane Campbell in Chehalis, Washington. She attended Chehalis schools and W.F. West High School. Sharon married Christopher Woods, Sr., in 2006 and graduated high school at Centralia College later that year.

In 2006 and 2007, Sharon gave birth to two sons, Christopher, Jr. and Cory Woods. She loved them more than any others on this planet. After separating from the boys’ dad, she moved to Olympia, where she has lived since 2015. One of her greatest pleasures was visiting her boys.

Sharon suffered a brain injury in 2010 that took her to some dark places. She worked very hard to regain the ability to speak, to read, and to interact with others. She was working to regain job skills when she died; seeking a future filled with bright possibilities.

She had an exciting energy about her that drew people in from all walks of life. Sharon seldom judged others, but accepted each person exactly as they were, expecting nothing but kindness in return. She will be remembered for her brilliant smile and laughter, and for making new friends with everyone she met. Her love was unconditional.

Sharon's disability separated her from most friends and acquaintances, and she spoke often about re-establishing friendships. Even as recently as the week of her death, she was looking forward to regaining job skills to find work over the summer. She one day hoped to become financially independent, to create a home that could accommodate her boys and their future spouses and children.

Sharon was the best mom, sister, and daughter she knew how to be, despite the difficulties presented by being distant and disabled. She worked tirelessly to find new and interesting ways to reach out to her boys, using creativity and love.

She is survived by her two sons, Christopher Woods, Jr. and Cory Woods, both from Chehalis; her parents, Rob and Deane Campbell of Chehalis; paternal grandmother, Geri “Nana” Campbell; and aunt, Carole Campbell, of North Carolina; as well as loving aunts, Cathleen Campbell Lamb of Olympia, Lori Williams Malone of Lacey, and Isabelle (Tony Perdue) Williams of Winlock. In addition, she is survived by her Uncle, Rick (Tami) Campbell, Texas; and many loving cousins and friends.

Sharon was preceded in death by her older brother, Caleb, who was her best friend and biggest champion. She never stopped missing him, and an infant sister, Christy. Also by her maternal grandparents, Sharon and Gene Williams, and paternal grandfather, Bob Campbell, and her uncle, Sam Williams.

There will be a memorial celebration of life Aug. 1, 2026 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Express at 730 NW Liberty Pl, Chehalis, WA 98532, just off I-5 at exit 77. All are welcome to bring their stories to share. Light refreshments will be available.
