The Gather Church in Centralia will hold a celebration of life event for the late Pastor Cole Meckle following his death from cancer earlier this week.
Gather Church Associate Pastor Patty Howard announced Wednesday afternoon that the church would hold the Meckle’s celebration of life on Saturday, Aug. 15, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Centralia starting at 4 p.m.
According to the post, Gather Church also plans to stream the event for community members who are unable to attend.
In the post, Howard added that all members of the community are welcome and invited to attend.
“In true Cole fashion, he left instructions for me to invite anyone and everyone,” reads the post. “You are invited.”
The event to honor Meckle will come roughly two weeks after his death. Meckle died early in the morning on Monday, July 27, in a hospice care facility in Tacoma surrounded by friends and family. Meckle was diagnosed just months earlier with an aggressive form of cancer said to be terminal.
