Celebration of life for Larry Foister

A celebration of life for Larry Foister will be held Feb. 28 at the Newaukum Grange, Chehalis, Washington, at 1 p.m. Bring your favorite dish and happy memories. 

Obituary: 

Larry Arthur Foister was born Oct. 21, 1945, in Chehalis, Washington, to Marion and Gladys Foister. He passed at his home in Willcox, Arizona, Thursday, Dec. 25, 2025, at the age of 80. He attended W.F. West High School, graduating in 1964. He lived his whole life in the Chehalis area, except for a brief stay at Fort Ord, California for the U.S. Army in 1968.

He worked at several places, including Date Lumber Mill, Hemphill O’Neil, Moduline Industries, Allen Homes Olympia and Washington State Department of Transportation, retiring after 33 years. He was a life member and Past Master of Newaukum Grange #198 Chehalis, life member Centralia Masonic Lodge 63, Worthy Royal Patron Chehalis Eastern Star #3, Chehalis Royal Patron Amaranth #55, American Legion, VFW, Past Associate Guardian Chehalis Jobs Daughters #73. Larry enjoyed camping with family, fishing, clam-digging and working on the family farm.

Larry is survived by his wife, Sally (LaBarre) Foister, whom he married June 25, 1966. Larry and Sally's daughters are Jennifer (John Ritchie) and Yvonne (Ryan Toland); they have seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, all of which survive him. Also surviving Larry is his brother, Stephen Foister (Maralee) of Chehalis, Washington; their sons, Brandon Foister and family and Alex Foister and family of Centralia, Washington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Gladys Foister; and his brother, Lester Glen Foister. A memorial service will be held later in the spring in Arizona.
