The Centralia College women’s soccer team finished its season with a win on Wednesday, as the Trailblazers topped South Puget Sound 3-0.

Both teams had few chances in the first half, but Sarah Robbins found the back of the net to give CC the lead just moments before halftime.

Out of the break, Rubi Serrato scored to double the advantage, and Cierra Larson made it 3-0 in the final moments of the game with her seventh goal of the season.

Centralia’s defense allowed eight shots, but only three were on target, and they were all saved. Two of the saves were credited to Kalei Garcia, while the third is listed as a team save.

The Trailblazers finish the season 6-7-1 overall, and 5-6-1 in NWAC play, six points back of Pierce and seven back of Clark, the two teams that have clinched the last two West Region playoff spots.

Evans’ quick brace propels Trailblazer comeback

The Centralia men’s soccer team needed a spark on Wednesday at Pierce, and Tristan Evans delivered, scoring twice in under a minute to turn a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 lead, one the Trailblazers would not relinquish.

While Kevin Flores gave the Raiders a 1-0 lead 15 minutes in, Centralia keeper Victor Rojas and the CC defense locked down the Pierce attack throughout the rest of the match.

Rojas finished the game with six saves.

Centralia (4-9-4, 3-8-3 NWAC) outshot Pierce in the first half, but it wasn’t until Evans found the back of the net that the momentum fully flipped sides.

Just 54 seconds later, Evans gave the Trailblazers the lead, and the defense did the rest from there.

The Trailblazers will wrap up their regular season on Saturday, when they’ll host Clark at Bob Peters Field at 2 p.m.
