Authorities say a Renton man following a truck too closely caused a two-vehicle accident Monday afternoon on north Interstate-5 before exit 32 for Kalama River Road.
When a 2011 Toyota Tundra pickup with three Castle Rock residents slowed for traffic, Keith Lanan, 70, hit them while attempting to pass in a 2001 Jeep Cherokee about 12:12 p.m., according to a Washington State Patrol press memo.
The accident occurred past the exit for downtown Kalama and before the exit for Haydu Park.
A passenger in the truck — Dawn M. Wistrick, 49 — was injured and transferred to PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center in Longview.
The Tundra's driver — Trevor H. Wistrick, 39 — and other passenger —Chantelle E. Issacson, 22 — were not injured.
Lanan was also uninjured. State troopers are pursuing charges against him for following too closely, the memo states.
