A Castle Rock woman is suspected of negligent driving after authorities say she hit another vehicle head-on early Saturday west of Seaquest State Park.
Barbara D. Auman, 55, crossed the centerline and struck a vehicle headed the other way on Spirit Lake Memorial Highway near 1 a.m. Saturday in Castle Rock, a Washington State Patrol press memo reports.
Auman hit Melvin F. Bailey, 77, also of Castle Rock, who was headed east toward Silver Lake. Auman was headed west toward the Castle Rock McDonald's.
Bailey's 2011 Chevrolet Silverado was totaled, but he wasn't injured, the memo states.
Auman's Toyota Tacoma was also totaled. She was injured and sent to PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center in Longview.
The memo states the crash was caused by speed, and neither drugs nor alcohol were involved.
Troopers are pursuing the suspected charges of negligent driving and improper lane usage for Auman.
