Bowers, Curtis ahead in races to serve on Winlock City Council

After the initial release of election results Tuesday, Jodie Curtis and Jess Bowers are in the lead to sit on the Winlock City Council

The Lewis County Auditor’s Office reported that Curtis had 158 votes, or 64.75% of the ballots, to Eric Contreras’ 86 votes, or 35.25% of the ballots. The Lewis County Auditor’s Office counted 244 votes for the race in the initial release.

Meanwhile, the auditor’s office reported that Bowers had 141 votes, or 58.26% of the ballots, to Marty A. Poirrier II’s 101 votes, or 41.74% of the ballots. The Lewis County Auditor’s Office counted 242 votes for the race in the initial release.



The preliminary count included the results of 13,338 ballots. The Lewis County Auditor’s Office estimated there were still 701 ballots left to count on election night, with an estimated total voter turnout of 24.15%.

The next ballot count was set to be released at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 8. Election certification will take place on Nov. 28.
