Blazers Swept by Mt. Hood in Home Doubleheader

Centralia College softball was unable to generate offense and was outscored 14-2 in a pair of home games against Mt. Hood on Saturday.

In Game 1, Rochester alum Kiyah Kennedy tossed all seven innings for the Blazers in a 4-1 loss. Kennedy struck out three and allowed four earned runs on 10 hits and a walk.

The Blazers led 1-0 through two innings until their bats went silent the rest of the way. Nikole Schock, Grace Hodel, Emma Eko, Casey Wentz, Sydney Yates and Faith Kennedy all tallied hits for CC.

In Game 2, the Blazers again struggled to turn hits into runs, falling 10-1 in five innings.



Kylie Baker went 1 for 3 while scoring the Blazers’ lone run, while Grace Hodel, Eko, Yates, Kaylee Ashley and Paige Bryant all collected hits.

Bryant struck out one batter on the mound, allowing 10 earned runs on 15 hits and two walks in 4.1 innings.

Centralia College (5-10, 4-5 West Region) next plays on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the Crossover Tournament at Recreation Park in Chehalis.
