A strong defensive start helped Black Hills pick up its third straight win on Friday, when the Wolves topped Shelton 47-41 in Tumwater.
The Wolves outscored the Highclimbers 14-5 in the first quarter, and though the offense slowed down in the second, they still took a five-point lead into the break.
Both offenses picked it up in the second half, and Black Hills was able to do enough to hold onto its lead.
Kona Bell and Peyton Faught both hit four threes and finished with 14 points, while James Morgan finished with eight. Kendall Roberson added six, and Quinton Morrill finished with five.
Black Hills (12-4, 5-1 2A EvCo) will hit the road on Tuesday to face W.F. West.
