Black Hills pulls away late to top Castle Rock

The Black Hills girls basketball team came out of the gates quick Friday night, but had to pull away late to top Castle Rock 53-39.

The Wolves (2-0) led by 19 after the first quarter, but saw their lead dwindle to just three entering halftime.

The game stayed close throughout the third, but the Wolves outscored the Rockets 19-7 in the fourth to build a late lead.

Kiley McMahon led Black Hills with 22 points, while Tyler Venable added 14 points and grabbed 15 rebounds.

Haley McMahon added eight points, and Cassidy O’Reilly scored four.

The Wolves will be back in action on Monday at home against Elma.
