Black Hills loses opener at North Thurston

The Black Hills’ volleyball team dropped its season opener at North Thurston in straight sets on Tuesday, losing 25-14, 25-14, 25-7.

The Wolves couldn’t keep up with the Rams, who scored in bunches to quickly take the lead in all three sets.

Claire Johnson led the scoring with six kills, and Ashley Harris added five. Anneliese Dale tallied seven digs defensively, Harris added four and Johnson three. Lilly Kincaid tallied 17 assists. 

Dale and Madi Malone also had one ace each, the only two aces of the day for the Wolves.

Black Hills will look to bounce back tomorrow at Montesano, where they play at 6 p.m. Their home opener follows on Thursday, when they’ll host Capital at 7 p.m.
