The Black Hills volleyball team won the first set of its matchup in Aberdeen on Tuesday night, but the Wolves dropped the following three to lose in four 25-22, 25-27, 22-25, 25-27.

Piper Manning finished with 36 digs to lead the Black Hills defense, while Lily Worthen collected 19 digs, 12 kills, 10 assists, and four aces as part of an excellent night all-around.

Jaya Tummala added eight kills and three blocks, and Mila Dickey tallied 13 assists.

“It was a well fought match and a tough loss for us tonight,” Black Hills coach Kendra Dunn said. “I am proud of the team and their willingness to fight. Aberdeen did a great job and were scrappy tonight. We need to clean up a few of our errors, but we will continue to grow as a team.”

The Wolves (9-4, 3-3 2A EvCo) will hit the road again on Thursday, but they won’t have to travel as far, instead heading across town to face Tumwater.
