One week after a blowout loss to Montesano, the Tenino football team was hoping it could get back on the right track at home against Elma.
The Beavers did just that, shutting out Elma 42-0 in a dominant victory.
Tenino scored four touchdowns in the first half to open up a 28-0 lead before adding another pair of scores in the second half.
“I'm pleased with the performance,” Tenino coach Darren Tinnerstet said. “We corrected a lot of mistakes from last week, and we moved the ball well … Anytime you can hold a team to zero points, it means we did our job.”
The Beavers will host Hoquiam for their Senior Night next Friday, Oct. 17, before heading to Rochester for the Scatter Creek Showdown in a game that could determine a first or second place finish in the Evergreen League.
“We’re excited,” Tinnerstet said. “We’ve gotten healthy, and we’re firing on all cylinders right now.”
