Spurred by a comeback in the fourth quarter, the Tenino High School girls basketball team pulled out a 45-41 overtime triumph over Columbia Adventist on Tuesday night on their home floor.
Tenino (2-0) has already equaled its win total from last winter within the first week of the 2024-25 campaign. It trailed after the first and third quarters before piecing together a rally in the final eight minutes to force OT.
“I haven't been surprised,” Beavers first year head coach Kirsi Gofinch said. “I know they have their fight in them. Seeing the girls compete in a close game like that was great.”
Chloe Grayless paced the scoring with a team-best 13 points while Holly Thoren registered eight points and 11 rebounds. Tenino overcame 34 turnovers to secure its second straight win.
The Beavers will hit the road on Thursday night to face Naselle.
