The Tenino boys basketball team fell just short of a district championship on Saturday, as the Beavers fell 67-63 to Seton Catholic in the 1A District 4 title game.

Seton Catholic had a lead as high as 18 points in the first half, but the Beavers (16-6) ended the first half on a 9-0 run to cut the deficit in half.

They ended the third with another 9-0 run to get within three, and got within as close as two points in the final two minutes of the game, but Brady Angleo iced the game with a three and a free throw that put the game out of reach. Angelo led the Cougars with a game-high 26 points.

Noah Schow and Austin Gonia both put up double-doubles, with Schow scoring 25 points and grabbing 11 rebounds while Gonia added 20 points and 14 rebounds. Will Feltus scored six points and dished out six assists.

On Sunday, Tenino was awarded the No. 8 seed, meaning they will make it to Yakima regardless of their result against No. 1 Zillah in the Regional round. A win would send Tenino straight to the state quarterfinals on Feb. 29, while a loss would put them in the round of 12 on Feb. 28.
