The W.F. West girls tennis team won its second-straight meet on Friday, topping Kelso on the road 4-2.
Viviana Ibanez was behind in both sets of her matchup, but came back to win both sets 7-5.
“It was very impressive to watch,” W.F. West coach Megan Wellander said. “She was focused and wanted it more.”
Emma Hamilton and Alayna Leal also came out on top to sweep the singles matches, as Hamilton won 6-4, 6-2 and Leal won 6-4, 6-7 (2-7), 6-3.
Katelyn Wood and Ellie Mittge were the only W.F. West duo to come out on top, winning 6-3, 6-4.
Manta Ceesay and Emery Dalrymple lost 6-4, 6-7 (5-7), 0-6, and Nomin Javkhaatugs and Aubrey Prigmore lost 1-6, 1-6.
Wellander was pleased with the way the Bearcats competed up and down the lineup, saying “it was fun to see them figure out how to come back and compete.”
The Bearcats are off until after spring break, when they’ll head to Aberdeen on April 8.
