On a solid all-around day from the W.F. West girls golf team, the Bearcats defeated Shelton Monday afternoon on a sunny day, 91-45.
The Bearcats were led by Natalie Eklund’s 26 points, scored by Stableford format. She was followed by Grace Wayne (20), Abby Alexander (17), Kendall Rasmussen (16), and Joyce Stafford (12).
Shelton was led by Ali Sorley’s 13 points.
“I’m really proud of the girls,” Bearcats coach Matt Klovdahl said. “They didn’t play as well as they would’ve liked but they’ve learned how to score in the Stableford format and how to get their strokeplay down each match. We are looking forward to seeing continued improvement.”
The Bearcats take on Black Hills at Newaukum Wednesday.
