The W.F. West boys basketball was down early, but kicked it into gear as the game went along to top Rochester 70-59.
On the road, the Warriors (2-13, 0-11 2A EvCo) came out firing, and they held a four-point lead at the end of the first. The Bearcats (11-5, 8-1 2A EvCo) played better in the second quarter, but they led by just one at halftime.
W.F. West slowly pulled away in the second half, scoring 20 in the third and 21 in the fourth to come away with the victory and remain the only one-loss team in the EvCo.
Four Bearcats finished in double-figures, led by Gage Brumfield, who scored 17 points. Lucas Hoff hit three threes and finished with 15, while Parker Eiswald tallied 13 and Grady Westlund logged 11.
Riccardo Bruttini led Rochester with 16 points, while Ethan Rodriguez and Colton Weiss added 14 each.
