The W.F. West girls basketball team dominated in Longview on Monday, as the Bearcats defeated Mark Morris 65-31.
Julia Dalan had a game-high 29 points, nearly outsourcing the Monarchs by herself, and Dilyn Boeck added 13. Lena Fragner added 10, and W.F. West coach Kyle Karnofski added that she played well in other areas that don’t show up in the box score.
“She ran the floor well and was really tough for us all night,” Karnofski said.
The Monarchs struggled all night against the Bearcats defense, not scoring more than nine in a single quarter and posting just five in the first.
“Defensively we tweaked it up a little bit this game, gave some things a chance,” Karnofski said. “Our defense was pretty solid … All around we had a lot of good things.
The Bearcats return home on Wednesday, and they’ll look to continue their strong start to the season as they open league play against Rochester.
