Bearcats dominate Wolves in EvCo season finale

A little position switch between Wyatt Hoffman and Gage Brumfield worked wonders for the W.F. West High School football team on Friday night on the way to a 57-7 blowout win over Black Hills on senior night in Chehalis.

Hoffman got the start at quarterback and tossed for 200 yards and three touchdowns, including a 45-yard bomb to Brumfield as part of a 29-point barrage in the second quarter. Hoffman also threw a 40-yard TD pass to Ross Kelley and hit Carson White for a 36-yard score.

The Bearcats (8-1, 3-1 EvCo) totaled over 400 yards of total offense and held Black Hills to a rushing total of minus-25. Tucker Land and Beau Guyette each scored twice for W.F. West and combined for 117 yards.

Jaxsen Beck hit No. 1 target Tristan Deville for an 84-yard touchdown that gave the Wolves (3-6, 1-3) an early lead in the opening quarter. Deville finished with 183 receiving yards on six catches while Beck completed seven passes for 160 yards.

W.F. West will host a crossover game next week while Black Hills’ season comes to a close. The Wolves lose a handful of seniors for next fall, including Beck and Deville.
