The W.F. West girls basketball team won its fifth-straight game on Monday, defeating Ridgefield 66-32.
The Bearcats scored 21 points in the first quarter to build a double-digit lead, and they pulled away in the second half by outscoring the Spudders 28-10 after the break.
“I thought we had a good start,” W.F. West coach Kyle Karnofski said. “We just kind of continued that throughout … We kept up the pressure.”
Julia Dalan made her presence felt throughout, finishing with 27 points and 23 rebounds, while Dilyn Boeck scored 18 points.
Grace Simpson hit two threes in the second half to give W.F. West “a good spark,” Ellie Clinton added four points, and Madi Baine hit a three for her first varsity points.
“That was pretty cool,” Karnofski said. “Everyone was excited about that.”
The Bearcats (5-0) will look to remain undefeated when they travel to Eatonville on Friday. The three days off will be the longest stretch between games so far this season.
