Some rain and wind did little to bother the W.F. West boys golf team at Tumwater Valley on Monday, when the Bearcats defeated Tumwater 196-211.
Jamie Conzatti finished as the match medalist with a 37, but Jax Potter and Jayce Ayers were right behind him at 38 apiece. Fox Rogerson finished with a 41, and Gage Grisham rounded out the scorecard with a 42.
“I was really proud of how the boys played today,” W.F. West coach Matt Klovdahl said. “We’ve a chance to perform in any kind of weather, and the boys performed really well. I’m excited to see their scores continue to improve.”
Braeden Konrad led the T-Birds with a 38, while Baylor Olson shot a 40 and Easton Konrad added a 41. Liam Gustafson added a 45, and Mason Meling carded a 47.
The T-Birds and Bearcats will meet again on Wednesday at Newaukum Valley for the first 18-hole match of the season. The first group tees off at 1 p.m.
