Going 3-0 over the course of the week, the W.F. West girls basketball team capped the week with a 55-36 win over 3A Capital Saturday evening in Olympia.

Julia Dalan had 22 points in the first half alone, and finished the game 14 of 16 from the field for a game-high 28 points with minimal playing time in the fourth quarter.

“Playing 3 games in a week is tough,” W.F. West coach Kyle Karnofski said. “We had a great first quarter and first half. We did a lot of really good things that built off of yesterday. Collectively our defense played well.”

Carlie Deskins also scored in double figures with 10 points after a 13-point performance in a win against Centralia Friday night in Chehalis.

Karnofski praised his starter Deskins for getting to the rack well in recent contests.

“She’s been attacking the hoop well,” he said. “She’s been getting downhill and did a good job distributing.”

The Bearcats take on rival Tumwater on Tuesday on the road in a matchup between league unbeatens.
