The W.F. West golf team came away with a victory on its Senior Day, topping Black Hills 421-446 at Newaukum Valley to avenge their first loss of the season.

The entire W.F. West lineup was made up of seniors, including a few who were playing their first competitive matches of the season.

Gage Grisham finished as the match medalist with a 7-over 79, Jax Potter posted an 82, Mason McGregor and Beckman Dvorak both scored an 86, and Fox Rogerson and Hayden North both logged an 88.

It was a season-best score for Grisham, McGregor, Dvorak, and North.

“It was really rewarding to see these seniors perform so well in their last home match of their high school career,” W.F. West coach Matt Klovdahl said. “The seniors set the tone for how the team will practice each day, and these guys have helped establish a culture of excellence for our program.”

The Bearcats will wrap up their regular season with another 18-hole match at Riverside against Centralia next Wednesday, Oct. 15. The first group is scheduled to tee off at 1 p.m.
