The W.F. West boys wrestling team crossed the Columbia River and took 16 schools from Oregon on Saturday in McMinnville, Ore., placing second overall at the Your Space Storage Invite.

“We wrestled a lot better today, maybe the best we have all year,” WFW coach Jamie Rakevich said. “It was good to get out of Washington and see some different  schools “

Beau Guyette took first place at 150, with Tucker Land earning first at 170. The Bearcats got second-place finishes out of Grayson Serl (144), Josafat Acuna (150), Kage Homan (!65) and Talon Meredith (285), while Andrew Snyder (157) and Andrew Penland (215) were third and Angelo Peters (285) took fourth.
