Balanced Night Leads Tumwater Past Aberdeen

All 10 Thunderbirds to see the court found the basket, and the Tumwater boys basketball team rolled to a 78-37 blowout of Aberdeen on Wednesday in 2A EvCo play.

Tumwater jumped out with 13 straight points to start the game, and led 27-6 after a quarter of play, behind 14 points from Luke Brewer. After a slower second quarter, the T-Birds started the second half like they did the first, winning the third quarter 22-7 to put the game well in hand.

Luke Brewer, returning after time out sick, led the T-Birds with 18 points, finishing 8 of 13 from the field, with seven rebounds and two assists to boot. Andrew Collins added 13 points, six assists, and five boards.

Those two were the only Thunderbirds in double figures, but the guests flexed their depth behind them. Tanner Brewer finished a point shy of a double-double with nine points and a team-high 12 rebounds — six on offense and six on defense. Gunnar Harroun had eight points and seven boards, Kuke Red had seven points, four assists, and four steals, and Clayton Morgan finished with six points, five assists, and six rebounds.

Tumwater (4-0, 3-0 2A EvCo) will wrap up its week at Centralia on Friday.
