A Winlock man accused giving alcohol to an 18-year-old woman and a 14-year-old girl before raping the 18-year-old in November was arrested Wednesday on felony charges.
Nicholas Lee Krusmark, 44, was charged Thursday, April 3, in Lewis County Superior Court with one count of second-degree rape and two counts of supplying liquor to a minor after the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office completed its investigation into a sexual assault reported on Nov. 16, 2024, according to court documents.
Bail is set at $500,000.
The victim was receiving medical care and a sexual assault evaluation at St. John’s Hospital in Longview when the incident was reported.
According to the victim, she and a 14-year-old relative were at a house in Winlock the night of Nov. 16 when Krusmark allegedly provided alcohol to the minors.
The victim reported that she had a total of five drinks “over a couple hours,” according to court documents.
She reported that she became ill from the alcohol and went to lie down on a couch inside the residence. Krusmark allegedly raped her later that night while she was still intoxicated, according to court documents.
DNA samples obtained via the sexual assault evaluation at the hospital reportedly showed “a possible association … with the suspect Nicholas Krusmark,” according to court documents.
Krusmark’s criminal history includes convictions for communications with a minor for immoral purposes and supplying liquor to a minor, according to Lewis County Deputy Prosecutor Paul Masiello.
“This is a significant risk to community safety … and given his history, very concerning allegations here,” Lewis County Superior Court Judge Joely Yeager said during Krusmark’s preliminary hearing on Thursday where she granted the prosecution’s request for $500,000 bail.
Krusmark’s criminal history “gives the court some concern about the predatory nature of the allegations,” Yeager said.
Arraignment is scheduled for Thursday, April 10.
