Bail is set at $50,000 for a man accused of forcing his way into his ex-girlfriend’s home in Centralia and threatening to kill her on Saturday.
Witnesses reported the incident to the Centralia Police Department, according to charging documents filed in Lewis County Superior Court on Thursday.
Fernando Martin Pizano, 46, of Silver Creek, is accused of trying to push his way into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment while she was attempting to hold the door shut on Saturday, May 4.
Pizano allegedly reached in and grabbed her throat in an attempt to get the door open, and allegedly “made threats to her including that he would break out her car windows and that he would kill her and have her killed,” according to court documents.
Pizano was allegedly heard telling the victim “you’re going to be gone and your son will be an orphan,” “I’ll take care of it myself, you’ll be gone,” and “Centralia won’t even know who you are anymore,” according to court documents.
When the victim asked him if he was going to kill her, Pizano allegedly said, “I never said that, but I’ll make sure it’s taken care of.”
The victim’s son was reportedly in the home at the time of the incident.
Alcohol “may be the crux of this case,” defense attorney Rachael Tiller said during Pizano’s preliminary hearing in Lewis County Superior Court on Thursday.
The victim reported she broke up with Pizano in November 2023 after Pizano allegedly broke her TV. Court records indicate he is currently facing a third-degree malicious mischief, domestic violence charge in Centralia Municipal Court stemming from that incident.
“She indicated that he was possessive and refused to accept that the relationship was over,” according to court documents.
Pizano was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail just after 3:40 p.m. on May 8, according to jail records. He was charged May 9 with one count each of first-degree burglary, fourth-degree assault and felony harassment. Each charge carries a domestic violence enhancement.
Arraignment is scheduled for Thursday, May 16.
