Bail is set at $100,000 for a man accused of breaking into a Vader residence and attacking a woman and her boyfriend in March.

The man, identified in court documents as Jordan Mark Twidwell, 26, of Longview, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail on Saturday, April 6, according to jail records.

He was charged March 22 with one count each of second-degree assault, first-degree burglary, domestic violence, and fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.

The charges stem from an assault complaint deputies with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office responded to at a West Side Highway address in Vader on March 13.

According to court documents, Twidwell, who was previously in a relationship with the female homeowner, arrived at the Vader address “wanting to get inside.”

Twidell allegedly “entered an unlocked door and began to argue with (the homeowner)” then “grabbed her by the arms and pushed her to the side.” He then allegedly “went to her current boyfriend … and struck him in the face numerous times with a flashlight,” according to court documents.

Medical personnel later determined the boyfriend suffered an orbital fracture, a mild deformity to his nasal bone and a laceration to his lower lip that required three stitches.

Responding deputies reportedly saw red marks on the woman’s arm “consistent with being grabbed,” observed the boyfriend’s injuries and documented blood droplets on the floor of the residence.

Court documents indicate Twidwell was released from prison on Feb. 26 after he finished serving a sentence for an unrelated 2020 protection order violation.

Deputies attempted to locate Twidwell on March 13 “and have been looking for him since the alleged assault with no success,” according to charging documents filed on March 22.

Lewis County Superior Court issued a $150,000 warrant for Twidell’s arrest that same day.

Commissioner Paul Strophy ruled Monday to lower Twidwell’s bail from the $150,000 set in the warrant to $100,000, citing community safety concerns and multiple domestic violence-related convictions on his record as reasons for the relatively high bail.

Arraignment is scheduled for Thursday, April 11.

No-contact orders protecting the victims are in place.
