The new Chehalis fire chief, Adam Fulbright, will have his official badge-pinning ceremony conducted Monday evening at Chehalis City Hall, according to a news release from the city.

The ceremony will begin at 5 p.m. at the beginning of the Chehalis City Council meeting following a reception for Fulbright that starts at 4:30 p.m.

Refreshments will be available at Fulbright’s reception. Chehalis residents are invited to meet their new fire chief and his wife, Diana Fulbright, who also serves as a captain in the South Beach Regional Fire Authority.

According to the release, Fulbright now has more than 30 years of firefighting experience. He was most recently the fire chief of East Grays Harbor Fire and Rescue.

“With experience in most areas of the fire service and a reputation as a dedicated member of the firefighting community, he has demonstrated the ability to lead an organization effectively by emphasizing service through teamwork and professional commitment,” the release states.

Fulbright has already been working for the City of Chehalis part time and will take over full time as the fire chief on May 15. Retiring fire chief Tedd Hendershot has been working with Fulbright to help him during his transition.

Despite his tenure with the city just starting, Fulbright has already advanced the proposal to purchase a new ladder truck for the city, which was approved by the city council on April 24.

“There is no doubt that Chief Fulbright has the skillset, commitment and integrity needed to lead the Chehalis Fire Department as its fire chief,” according to the release.

Following the ceremony, the Chehalis City Council will continue to hold its regularly scheduled meeting. Chehalis City Hall is located at 350 N. Market Blvd. in downtown Chehalis.
