The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) on Wednesday issued a plea for help in locating a female Mount Vernon teen who has been missing for nearly two weeks.

Ella Jones, 14, was last seen at her home in Mount Vernon on the night of Jan. 5. Ella’s mom, Sarah Merrill, saw her daughter in her room before going to bed that night. The next morning when Sarah went to check in on Ella, she was nowhere to be seen.

Merrill said Ella has never gone missing before, and every one is deeply concerned for her safety. She added that Ella has not tried to contact any family or friends since she vanished, which is very unlike her.

Ella is described as 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing about 130 pounds. She has brown eyes with brown hair and very distinct dimples. She is believed to be in the Mount Vernon area, or possibly other cities in Washington.

Anyone with information about Ella or her disappearance is asked to contact NCMEC at 1-800-THE-LOST (800-843-5678) or the Mount Vernon Police Department at 360-428-3211.
