At least 11 people were injured in a collision involving a work bus and a semitruck Thursday morning in Grant County, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The crash occurred on Highway 24 near milepost 53, west of Othello, Adams County, leaving the roadway blocked, Patrol said in a post on X around 7 a.m.
The bus was turning onto Highway 24, going south on Road 24 Southwest, when it failed to yield the right of way to the semi, Patrol said. That's when the semi crashed into it.
No one died, Trooper Jeremy Weber said around 8 a.m., but the extent of the people's injuries was still unknown, he confirmed Thursday evening.
The injuries are of a wide range, however, said Grant County sheriff's office spokesperson Kyle Foreman. The injured were taken to various hospitals in the Tri-Cities area.
The bus had farmworkers aboard, Foreman said. About 15 people were involved in the crash.
Highway 24 was closed in both directions at Road 24 Southwest and reopened shortly before 2 p.m., according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
