A “No Kings” rally is planned in Olympia on Saturday, Oct. 18 — billed as the 2.0 version of the June 14 event that drew thousands to the Capitol Campus to protest against President Donald Trump.

The rally is part of a coordinated day of No Kings protests around the country, with dozens of similar rallies planned throughout the state and many more scheduled from coast to coast, according to the No Kings website.

Where is the No Kings protest in Olympia?

The Olympia rally is noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Capitol Campus in Olympia.

Olympia Indivisible is partnering with the Olympia chapter of Evergreen Resistance on the rally, described as a “peaceful, family-friendly, pro-democracy event.”

Organizers said they “expect all participants to commit to nonviolence in all aspects of our interactions and to act lawfully at this event.”

Participants are encouraged to bring signs and American flags. What is No Kings?

Organizers described No Kings as “a peaceful national day of action and mass mobilization in response to the increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption of the Trump administration.”

Along with the Olympia rally, No Kings protests are planned in and around Seattle, Tacoma, Bellingham, the Tri-Cities and other parts of Washington.

A No Kings protest is also scheduled for George Washington Park in Downtown Centralia.
